Oh the Things We've Learned

So I guess having a baby will teach you alot, I wanted to share a few things that I have learned since having sweet little Dawson.

  1. EVERYBODY has advice and thinks that they know best... in the end you have to figure out what works for you and your baby.

  2. Each baby has their own schedule and mine is very considerate from what I have heard from other moms- thank goodness as I do not do well on little sleep.

  3. 2 teaspoons of brown sugar mixed in 2 ounces of formula or water will make a baby that hasn't pooped in 3 days poop out everything within 24 hours (thank you to the nurses at the Family Birthing Center in Kennewick for helping me out with that one!)

  4. My parents (especially mom) and older siblings (ALETHA) are very helpful and almost always right! Sorry about all the phone calls and questions.

  5. There are some interesting shows and infomercials on at 3 in the morning (Dawson's regular time to wake up).

  6. Little kids love to touch baby faces... YIKES!! I am a little bit afraid of germs so this is a tough one for me to get over.

  7. It is amazing how much love you can have for someone so instantly!! I think Chad pretends to be a little jealous when I talk about the kind of LOVE that I have for Dawson, it is a kind of love that I have never felt before. I think having someone rely so fully on you to survive and spending every moment with such a tiny precious person is such an amazing thing.

  8. I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for entrusting me with such an amazing little guy to care for and I only hope and pray that I can do a decent job in raising him! What a huge responsibility, I don't want to screw this one up!

Thank you everyone for your recent help! Love you guys!

I agree with you on #1. The funny thing is, I always give new mom's new advice and then after I give the advice I always say to myself "but that might now work for them". I think I have gotten better, but I dont know. Did I give you alot of advice? Oh well :)

Hmm the brown sugar mixture sounds like something I need to remember.

Youre going to be the best mommy.

No...I don't want people thinking that I do not appreciate or take their advice. I don't mind people telling me what works for them some of it is really great advice. I have just found that not everything works for every baby the same.

Ahh, the learning...it really never stops since these little people insist on always changing and coming up with new things to "teach" us! I can't stop saying how excited I am for you!! They really are the greatest things we get to experience here!
