Update On The Little Man

Okay so my sister got on me for being slow with getting blogs up on here, so for those awaiting more information, I apologize. things have been pretty busy trying to keep the house up and hosting guests daily along with my new mommy responsibilities... I am loving every minute of it! Dawson is really doing great... at night he has continued with his schedule of 3 am and 6 or 7 am... I don't think I could have asked for a better baby not to mention he is most likely the cutest baby I have ever seen or will ever see in my entire life (I may be a little biased, I really don't think so though) he sleeps quite often during the day as well and some have complained that they were not able to see him with his eyes open so I am posting as little video that has him wide awake being his cute little self there is really nothing too exciting on the little video but it gives you a better idea of what he really looks like since the pictures don't really seem to do it yet!!

Day Number 5 With Our Sweet Boy

Okay, So as you can see I attempted to take a couple pictures of Dawson today... I have to tell you the story about the picture above... I have decided that I cannot take pictures of an infant all on my own... I am used to having the parent there to help me in keeping them in place and happy... So first of all I didn't want to haul out all of my lights and equipment so I decided to just use window light until I have some help from my mom or sister... AH!! Okay so I am thinking oh, I'll just get a couple shots and call it good... first thing he does when I pulled out my camera is wake up which is not what I was looking for... then he doesn't like being naked so he begins to cry and what happens when babies cry when they are naked... they pee everywhere... then he spits up... so needless to say I only got like 3 shots before giving up... I'll definitely do more later but for now no more going solo on the portraits... Just thought the shot was a little funny :)

Things have actually been going very well! The first 2 nights were a little hard but, last night my little baby Dawson did so awesome!! He is finally being satisfied by my milk which makes him fall asleep right after nursing... so we went to bed at 11:30 and he woke up at 3 ate, got a diaper change fell back asleep, and woke up again at 6 ate, got another diaper change and fell asleep again. We woke up for the day at 8 I fed him and then we took a nap until 10:30. I am such a proud mommy!! He is so stinkin' cute I just cannot get over how much I love this kid. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE HIM!!! Thanks again to everyone who has helped us out through all of this. All the meals that we have received through the church relief society women and people stopping by have been really great. Love you all! Oh and please pray for me as I feel tomorrow is going to be a tough day... little Dawson is being circumcised. Luckily, my wonderful mother will being coming to stay with us for a couple nights to help out... perfect timing! Yikes!

A New Davis, Hooray!

Okay, so I am sure many of you have heard that we had our sweet little man I had my doctor appointment at 10:15 a.m. and Dr. Schroff checked me and I was at a 3 and almost completely effaced. We knew that there may be a chance of going into the hospital to be induced since the appointment before, I had basically begged to be induced and he almost took me then but the hospital was full. So he told me that the hospital would call me in when my room was ready so... they did they called me at about 1:30 p.m. I arrived there are 2:00 p.m. they induced me at 3:30 p.m. I began to go into some very painful labor at 8:30 p.m. I received my epidural at 9:15 p.m. (which was amazing btw) and immediately dilated to an 8 completely effaced. My mom showed up and we played some uno and watched some tv, at about 11:30p.m. they went to call my doctor to come over to break my water while they were calling him my water broke and I was almost immediately ready to deliver. Dr. Schroff showed up a little after midnight and we began to do some pushing. At this point I was excited because I had no pain and my baby was almost here. I only had to push for 35-45 minutes and my sweet baby arrived at 12:44 a.m. on Friday October 17, 2008. We named him Dawson Foster Davis he weighed 7 lbs 3oz. and was 19 inches long. We had a few visitors at the hospital and it was really great to see everyone! They sent us home this morning and we are very happy to be home but I am a little nervous to not have any nurses to remind me to take meds and to feed my baby so hopefully things will be alright :) The following link is to a video that Chad's grandpa made from their visit to the hospital. http://video.yahoo.com/watch/3733821?fr=yvmtf

TOMORROW HOPEFULLY!

Just to update everyone, at my appointment yesterday my doctor told me that I was only dilated to about a 2 but that I was almost completely thinned out or "effaced" whatever that means so he said he would have gone ahead and taken me into the hospital last night but that there were too many people and not enough rooms available... so he "stripped me" (very uncomfy) and he set me up another appointment for tomorrow (Thursday Oct. 16) at which he will see how far I have progressed and he will most likely send me over to the hospital unless there are still not enough rooms... and try to get things moving. Please pray that he will just take me tomorrow... I cannot wait to hold my precious baby!

Oh the other things was that last night I totally thought I was in labor I woke up at 1 a.m. and thought oh man another contraction and they are getting uncomfortable... so it happened again and i thought to myself that seemed pretty close together so I walked out to the living room sat down and turned on CSI. I began to time them... they were about 5 minutes apart but were not very painful so I just sat there and timed for about 20 minutes each of them were very consistent from start to start so I woke Chad up and had him time them with me, again they stayed very consistently at 5 minutes apart. I called my mom (thank goodness I have an awesome nurse for a mother) she told me to wait a bit longer to see if they got more painful and to also call the OB department at KGH, so... I did. I called them they told me to take a bath and drink some water and if they stayed consistent or got worse to come in after about 2 hours. So I took a bath they seemed to stay consistent except a little less prominent so I decided that I would try to sleep (which really didn't happen) but I figured I'd only leave if something really drastic happened i.e. hard contractions/water breaking etc. Anyway nothing happened so... I just got up this morning and went to work. I am working on no sleep but I figure I will go crazy if I stay home... I came home for my lunch break and decided I should let everyone know what's up.

SO, HOPEFULLY WE'LL HAVE A BABY TOMORROW!! I will be so sad if they send me away!

Make A Guess

So I know you are all dying to know what happened at my appointment yesterday. To be completely honest it wasn't super exciting. My doctor had to deliver a baby yesterday so needless to say he was running a little late. My appointment was scheduled for 4:15 and I didn't actually see him until 4:45 so by the time he got in there I had forgotten all of the questions I had for him and of course, I remembered just after I left as always. He did measure my belly and I am on schedule and have further dropped. He did not "measure me" I do not know how far I have dilated since the last appointment. He said that next week we would find out and be really excited. He is still saying that, in his opinion, I will not make it to my due date especially since I have dropped even more since the last appointment, which is very exciting.

After my appointment yesterday Chad and I went to eat at Pita Pit in Pasco, that is our new favorite place to eat. We then went over to his grandparents house to watch the presidential debate while waiting for his flag football game to begin. We went over to the TRAC in Pasco where they hold this amazing city flag football league. They of course won the game by at least 2 touchdowns and I sat through the entire thing and I have to mention it was freezing. Chad insists that I go to all of his games from now on in case I go into labor... I am sure there is more to that :) He has of course been dominating as the coach/QB, what else would you expect.

I am beginning to have very rough nights every night. I probably woke up at least ten times last night once choking on some stomach acid, 6 times to try and turn myself over without much success, and three to use the bathroom. Chad informed me this morning that he is not sleeping very well because I am moving so much and coughing etc. He also told me that he rubbed my back last night for about a half hour trying to make me more comfortable... I definitely don't remember that, kinda wish I did. Anyway, My friend Serena is guessing that I will have my baby on the 12th... I am guessing it will be the 19th... ANY GUESSES? (date & time) There may just be a prize for the winner.

Ready to Go??

Okay, so I decided since I have had both of my showers (both very amazing BTW) and I will deliver within the next couple-few weeks that I should get a little prepared... So tonight, I got together all of the baby's stuff that he will need to come home from the hospital (probably even over-packed a little). I picked out what I think at this point I would like to bring him home in (pictured). I have yet to do anything for myself mainly because I do not know what I need. Yikes is this really happening?? Chad and I are going shopping tomorrow for the rest of the priority objects needed when having a baby so I will feel prepared and not freak out about not being prepared when the time comes to go... It was so cute because I asked Chad if he would like me to just find someone else to go with, because he is not the most patient shopper, he was a little offended and said that he totally wanted to shop for his son and that he was excited! SO... cute right?! Anyway... that's all I have for now!! Thanks everyone again for all of your support and generosity at this exciting time for us! OH!! If anyone has suggestions for what I need to take or things that would be helpful for delivery I would totally appreciate some advice! Thanks!

Good News!!

Yet again, Dr. Schroff has managed to make my day... yesterday I had my appointment where they begin measuring etc. (for you women I think you know what that means) so... it was not the most comfortable thing I have ever been through but it was exciting none the less. So he measures and tells me that I am measuring at 1 centimeter which isn't huge but it is a good sign that things are progressing considering my due date is still 3 weeks away... He also told me that my uterus has significantly dropped and that my chances of making it all the way to my due date would be about 10%. So we may have an early delivery, YAHOO!!
