This girl is such a little mommy she is constantly feeding/taking care of her baby dolls and helping her mommy with little brother Gavin! LOVE THIS GIRL SO MUCH... I wish we lived closer!

2 Months Old Already!?!!

Dawson is officially 2 months old today, I cannot believe it! We went to the doctor today and I couldn't believe he is 12 lbs. 11 oz. and 23 inches already. For his height he is in the 50th percentile and for his weight he is in the 75th percentile. Needless to say, the doctor is not worried about him eating enough. He received his vaccinations today I was happy that the nurse was Mary Gardner a friend from church, it gave me a little more comfort than I think I would have had with anyone else... Dawson cried for just a minute it was really sad but I didn't even cry, I am so proud of myself. I will be taking some new pictures of him within the next week but until then... above are a few little snap shots with his daddy.

NEW BABY ELLA ROSE!!!

My brother Todd and his wife Shana had their 3rd baby last night at 8:32 p.m. She weighed 7 lb 11 1/2 oz and is 19 inches long. !! We are all very excited for them! She is adorable totally looks like her daddy! They named her Ella Rose which is pretty fun because my middle name is Rose as well and we are named after the same person!! So exciting! So I couldn't believe how much Dawson has grown after seeing and holding Ella, she is even a little bigger than he was and she is so tiny! Anyway, Shana looks great and I was able to catch them at the hospital right before they left for home I couldn't believe that they were headed home so soon after, exciting news!! CONGRATS CHAMBERLAIN FAMILY!!! Love you guys!

All Smiles!!

This is what I get every single morning... How can you not love your life when you have such a sweet little guy to spend your days with??

Happy Birthday Todd!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODD! Okay, so I hope that my brother Todd knows how I feel about him, but since it is his birthday today I thought that I would share a bit. When I was little Todd was the one that always treated me well! It may have been the fact that he was 10 years older than me and I was the baby girl for 6 years but I always loved Todd with a different kind of love than the others! He had a bunch of nicknames for me some were based on teasing etc. "Chappy" (Due to the fact that I always had chapped lips and I am not talking about just a little dry I am talking ... you know when you see those kids that have like a ring around their lips making them look like a clown... yeah that was me!) With Todd, I always knew that he was teasing out of pure love! I remember sitting next to the door listening to him scream along to Brian Adams in his room such an awesome memory. I remember running to him when I needed protection from one of my other siblings, he would always protect me. To this day we still have little inside "booger" jokes! Todd is such a caring person with such a soft heart! He is an amazing dad, it is so fun to watch him with his children & with mine too, he is so much fun! LOVE YOU TODDY WODDY PODDY!

Off to Church...

This was a photo of us after church on Sunday. Every Sunday it is a challenge for me I teach the 12-14 year old young women at church... so I am trying to finish preparing a lesson, get everyone ready and get out the door by 10:20 which normally you wouldn't think would be a challenge but it always seems like I need to sleep longer on Sunday mornings... So yeah we are still attending church every Sunday but not without a little chaos in the mornings. Isn't Dawson such a little cutie in his little Christmas church outfit?!!!Oh, and his little angelic look in that photo... LOVE IT, LOVE THAT BOY!

Finally Caught A Smile

We try to keep our little aim and shoot camera near at all times because since about 4 weeks old, Dawson has been smiling at us. More recently has been a little more predictable and you really can almost make it happen. To juggle the camera and Dawson and click at the correct time can be a little tricky. This morning I was laying in bed with him up against my legs and just getting him to smile and caught a little one on camera. There were many others much bigger but I was just so excited to get this one. I thought I would share my exciting moment with you!

Oh yeah, I can't forget to add this cute little snap shot of my grandparents with their great-grandchildren. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Oh the Things We've Learned

So I guess having a baby will teach you alot, I wanted to share a few things that I have learned since having sweet little Dawson.

  1. EVERYBODY has advice and thinks that they know best... in the end you have to figure out what works for you and your baby.

  2. Each baby has their own schedule and mine is very considerate from what I have heard from other moms- thank goodness as I do not do well on little sleep.

  3. 2 teaspoons of brown sugar mixed in 2 ounces of formula or water will make a baby that hasn't pooped in 3 days poop out everything within 24 hours (thank you to the nurses at the Family Birthing Center in Kennewick for helping me out with that one!)

  4. My parents (especially mom) and older siblings (ALETHA) are very helpful and almost always right! Sorry about all the phone calls and questions.

  5. There are some interesting shows and infomercials on at 3 in the morning (Dawson's regular time to wake up).

  6. Little kids love to touch baby faces... YIKES!! I am a little bit afraid of germs so this is a tough one for me to get over.

  7. It is amazing how much love you can have for someone so instantly!! I think Chad pretends to be a little jealous when I talk about the kind of LOVE that I have for Dawson, it is a kind of love that I have never felt before. I think having someone rely so fully on you to survive and spending every moment with such a tiny precious person is such an amazing thing.

  8. I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for entrusting me with such an amazing little guy to care for and I only hope and pray that I can do a decent job in raising him! What a huge responsibility, I don't want to screw this one up!

Thank you everyone for your recent help! Love you guys!

Blessing Day

Wow!! So yesterday was the big blessing day at church for Dawson. His daddy did an amazing job well, with a little help I am sure, in giving him a blessing. We were so blessed to have most of our family and some friends there to share the special day with us. Dawson did so well! He was super cute even though I couldn't really find him an outfit that I loved. So this is what he ended up wearing and was very cute everyone just loved him! And yeah we were all a little tired from the events of the day as you can see from the picture.

Update On The Little Man

Okay so my sister got on me for being slow with getting blogs up on here, so for those awaiting more information, I apologize. things have been pretty busy trying to keep the house up and hosting guests daily along with my new mommy responsibilities... I am loving every minute of it! Dawson is really doing great... at night he has continued with his schedule of 3 am and 6 or 7 am... I don't think I could have asked for a better baby not to mention he is most likely the cutest baby I have ever seen or will ever see in my entire life (I may be a little biased, I really don't think so though) he sleeps quite often during the day as well and some have complained that they were not able to see him with his eyes open so I am posting as little video that has him wide awake being his cute little self there is really nothing too exciting on the little video but it gives you a better idea of what he really looks like since the pictures don't really seem to do it yet!!

Day Number 5 With Our Sweet Boy

Okay, So as you can see I attempted to take a couple pictures of Dawson today... I have to tell you the story about the picture above... I have decided that I cannot take pictures of an infant all on my own... I am used to having the parent there to help me in keeping them in place and happy... So first of all I didn't want to haul out all of my lights and equipment so I decided to just use window light until I have some help from my mom or sister... AH!! Okay so I am thinking oh, I'll just get a couple shots and call it good... first thing he does when I pulled out my camera is wake up which is not what I was looking for... then he doesn't like being naked so he begins to cry and what happens when babies cry when they are naked... they pee everywhere... then he spits up... so needless to say I only got like 3 shots before giving up... I'll definitely do more later but for now no more going solo on the portraits... Just thought the shot was a little funny :)

Things have actually been going very well! The first 2 nights were a little hard but, last night my little baby Dawson did so awesome!! He is finally being satisfied by my milk which makes him fall asleep right after nursing... so we went to bed at 11:30 and he woke up at 3 ate, got a diaper change fell back asleep, and woke up again at 6 ate, got another diaper change and fell asleep again. We woke up for the day at 8 I fed him and then we took a nap until 10:30. I am such a proud mommy!! He is so stinkin' cute I just cannot get over how much I love this kid. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE HIM!!! Thanks again to everyone who has helped us out through all of this. All the meals that we have received through the church relief society women and people stopping by have been really great. Love you all! Oh and please pray for me as I feel tomorrow is going to be a tough day... little Dawson is being circumcised. Luckily, my wonderful mother will being coming to stay with us for a couple nights to help out... perfect timing! Yikes!

A New Davis, Hooray!

Okay, so I am sure many of you have heard that we had our sweet little man I had my doctor appointment at 10:15 a.m. and Dr. Schroff checked me and I was at a 3 and almost completely effaced. We knew that there may be a chance of going into the hospital to be induced since the appointment before, I had basically begged to be induced and he almost took me then but the hospital was full. So he told me that the hospital would call me in when my room was ready so... they did they called me at about 1:30 p.m. I arrived there are 2:00 p.m. they induced me at 3:30 p.m. I began to go into some very painful labor at 8:30 p.m. I received my epidural at 9:15 p.m. (which was amazing btw) and immediately dilated to an 8 completely effaced. My mom showed up and we played some uno and watched some tv, at about 11:30p.m. they went to call my doctor to come over to break my water while they were calling him my water broke and I was almost immediately ready to deliver. Dr. Schroff showed up a little after midnight and we began to do some pushing. At this point I was excited because I had no pain and my baby was almost here. I only had to push for 35-45 minutes and my sweet baby arrived at 12:44 a.m. on Friday October 17, 2008. We named him Dawson Foster Davis he weighed 7 lbs 3oz. and was 19 inches long. We had a few visitors at the hospital and it was really great to see everyone! They sent us home this morning and we are very happy to be home but I am a little nervous to not have any nurses to remind me to take meds and to feed my baby so hopefully things will be alright :) The following link is to a video that Chad's grandpa made from their visit to the hospital. http://video.yahoo.com/watch/3733821?fr=yvmtf

TOMORROW HOPEFULLY!

Just to update everyone, at my appointment yesterday my doctor told me that I was only dilated to about a 2 but that I was almost completely thinned out or "effaced" whatever that means so he said he would have gone ahead and taken me into the hospital last night but that there were too many people and not enough rooms available... so he "stripped me" (very uncomfy) and he set me up another appointment for tomorrow (Thursday Oct. 16) at which he will see how far I have progressed and he will most likely send me over to the hospital unless there are still not enough rooms... and try to get things moving. Please pray that he will just take me tomorrow... I cannot wait to hold my precious baby!

Oh the other things was that last night I totally thought I was in labor I woke up at 1 a.m. and thought oh man another contraction and they are getting uncomfortable... so it happened again and i thought to myself that seemed pretty close together so I walked out to the living room sat down and turned on CSI. I began to time them... they were about 5 minutes apart but were not very painful so I just sat there and timed for about 20 minutes each of them were very consistent from start to start so I woke Chad up and had him time them with me, again they stayed very consistently at 5 minutes apart. I called my mom (thank goodness I have an awesome nurse for a mother) she told me to wait a bit longer to see if they got more painful and to also call the OB department at KGH, so... I did. I called them they told me to take a bath and drink some water and if they stayed consistent or got worse to come in after about 2 hours. So I took a bath they seemed to stay consistent except a little less prominent so I decided that I would try to sleep (which really didn't happen) but I figured I'd only leave if something really drastic happened i.e. hard contractions/water breaking etc. Anyway nothing happened so... I just got up this morning and went to work. I am working on no sleep but I figure I will go crazy if I stay home... I came home for my lunch break and decided I should let everyone know what's up.

SO, HOPEFULLY WE'LL HAVE A BABY TOMORROW!! I will be so sad if they send me away!

Make A Guess

So I know you are all dying to know what happened at my appointment yesterday. To be completely honest it wasn't super exciting. My doctor had to deliver a baby yesterday so needless to say he was running a little late. My appointment was scheduled for 4:15 and I didn't actually see him until 4:45 so by the time he got in there I had forgotten all of the questions I had for him and of course, I remembered just after I left as always. He did measure my belly and I am on schedule and have further dropped. He did not "measure me" I do not know how far I have dilated since the last appointment. He said that next week we would find out and be really excited. He is still saying that, in his opinion, I will not make it to my due date especially since I have dropped even more since the last appointment, which is very exciting.

After my appointment yesterday Chad and I went to eat at Pita Pit in Pasco, that is our new favorite place to eat. We then went over to his grandparents house to watch the presidential debate while waiting for his flag football game to begin. We went over to the TRAC in Pasco where they hold this amazing city flag football league. They of course won the game by at least 2 touchdowns and I sat through the entire thing and I have to mention it was freezing. Chad insists that I go to all of his games from now on in case I go into labor... I am sure there is more to that :) He has of course been dominating as the coach/QB, what else would you expect.

I am beginning to have very rough nights every night. I probably woke up at least ten times last night once choking on some stomach acid, 6 times to try and turn myself over without much success, and three to use the bathroom. Chad informed me this morning that he is not sleeping very well because I am moving so much and coughing etc. He also told me that he rubbed my back last night for about a half hour trying to make me more comfortable... I definitely don't remember that, kinda wish I did. Anyway, My friend Serena is guessing that I will have my baby on the 12th... I am guessing it will be the 19th... ANY GUESSES? (date & time) There may just be a prize for the winner.

Ready to Go??

Okay, so I decided since I have had both of my showers (both very amazing BTW) and I will deliver within the next couple-few weeks that I should get a little prepared... So tonight, I got together all of the baby's stuff that he will need to come home from the hospital (probably even over-packed a little). I picked out what I think at this point I would like to bring him home in (pictured). I have yet to do anything for myself mainly because I do not know what I need. Yikes is this really happening?? Chad and I are going shopping tomorrow for the rest of the priority objects needed when having a baby so I will feel prepared and not freak out about not being prepared when the time comes to go... It was so cute because I asked Chad if he would like me to just find someone else to go with, because he is not the most patient shopper, he was a little offended and said that he totally wanted to shop for his son and that he was excited! SO... cute right?! Anyway... that's all I have for now!! Thanks everyone again for all of your support and generosity at this exciting time for us! OH!! If anyone has suggestions for what I need to take or things that would be helpful for delivery I would totally appreciate some advice! Thanks!

Good News!!

Yet again, Dr. Schroff has managed to make my day... yesterday I had my appointment where they begin measuring etc. (for you women I think you know what that means) so... it was not the most comfortable thing I have ever been through but it was exciting none the less. So he measures and tells me that I am measuring at 1 centimeter which isn't huge but it is a good sign that things are progressing considering my due date is still 3 weeks away... He also told me that my uterus has significantly dropped and that my chances of making it all the way to my due date would be about 10%. So we may have an early delivery, YAHOO!!

One Lucky Kid!

Last night I came to the realization that our family is very loved! This kid is coming into a world of people that love him so much before they even know him. I had my baby shower in Othello, Lisa and Dena did an amazing job in preparing this shower, Dena's house was gorgeous and of course, I knew that she was talented but she has another talent that discovered... She can make gorgeous cakes!! Wow, I was so impressed! And of course Lisa had everything so organized and the games were really fun compared to many shower games I have experienced. Anyway, so many people attended and everyone was so generous! We definitely are blessed! I feel so much more prepared after that shower and I am so looking forward to the next as I am sure it will be just as amazing! When I think of the love and generosity that those around me show, I just feel so blessed to have such amazing friends and family. Thanks to everyone that attended or plans to attend the one in Ephrata. Love you all!

YEAH for Dr. Schroff!!!

Okay... so today Dr. Schroff said something at my appointment that made me VERY happy! He told me that if I had my baby anytime from this point on everything would be fine!! So I am thinking the sooner the better, would anyone like to go for a run?? So that was a joke, obviously, I will not be running anytime soon.

Life at the Davis household is pretty much amazing to say the least... not much going on to be perfectly honest! I cannot wait for my baby showers!! Lisa Davis along with Dena Ashton are having a shower next week in Othello for my sweet baby and The one in Ephrata that Shana & Lindy are having is coming up in the next few weeks sometime as well. I am really excited to feel a bit more prepared for this whole thing... I am beginning to feel a bit nervous to be completely honest, this is something I have never experienced before and I have never been this scared and excited all at the same time. I feel so ready and yet very unprepared and "in the dark"about so many things.

My sweet boy is moving like crazy and I think he will be just as active as his daddy is. If you didn't know, Chad happens to be one of the most active people I have ever met. He has been involved in sports his entire life and seems to be very gifted at anything he tries. He participates in city league softball,Wednesday night and Saturday morning basketball, he gets up just about every morning to work out at the gym, he is beginning city league flag football in Pasco soon, he'll take anyone on in a pick up game of anything at any point in time and when he is not playing sports he is watching sports, when he is not playing or watching sports he is giving his brother tips on sports and strategies etc. and when he is not doing that he is managing his fantasy sports online or researching or reading about sports online or in his many sports magazines that he receives. He has a bit of an obsessive personality, but that's okay because he's obsessed with me as well he thinks I am a hottie! Even when I am huge and pregnant.

Chad has this fear that he will be in the restroom nauseous or that he will pass out... I personally think he will be fine but just in case I have asked for my very calm nurse mother to be in the room with me as well she will be the calming factor if Chad is hysterical. My mom is so amazing!! Wow,okay so that is a novel hope you got through all of that!

50 More Days... Are You KIDDING Me???

We have 50 more days until the expected arrival of our cute little baby boy... I cannot wait! There are so many reasons that I am looking forward to that day, I will share a few.

1. Obviously I am very excited to be a mommy!
2. I cannot wait to see what my sweet boy will look like.
3. I am excited to lay on my stomach even though I don't think I really did that much before!
4. I am excited to sleep without waking up 5+ times to pee.
5. I will get to stay home from work for 3 months Whoo Hoo!! Huge Blessing!
6. And, oh my gosh!!! I am just so excited to have this baby!! After all of this time and preparing, I am so ready for him to come.

Yeah for babies!!! anyway I am beginning to get very uncomfy! I have appointments every two weeks right now and starting the 30th, I go every week. My back is constantly in pain, I cannot lift up my left leg for anything, Chad has to help me to dress in the morning, get out of bed and get into the car among many other things. I went and spent a little time with my mom the other day and had her paint my toenails since they were beginning to look atrocious and I obvously cannot paint them. Chad tried the other day to paint my toenails for me and it was a complete joke, bless him for trying though. Work is getting to be a bit long for me to be up and around and my goal is to pretty much go into labor there so that I have more time after I have the baby at home. You know I really shouldn't complain, I have what seems to be a healthy baby, and I have had minimal problems up to this point so it is hard not to complain sometimes but I guess I just need to count my many blessings... Yeah for 7 more weeks!!

Still Losing

Here we go again... thought I'd update on my life the past little while. Thursday I had my Doctor's appointment which went pretty well, I asked my doctor a ton of questions about the whole process leading up to labor, the actual labor and a short period of time afterwards. We discussed options for drugs etc. I have been a little nervous about all of that since in Othello they do not offer any classes besides parenting classes which doesn't really help me at this point in time. He assured me that we would get though it without classes and gave me the names of a few books that might help any anxiety I may have. The other news not so great was that at my previous appointment I had lost 1 pound not super normal at this point in pregnancy but not anything to worry about either. Well, this appointment being only 2 weeks later I found out that I have lost 3 more pounds. This was a concern for Dr. Schroff. I told him that I totally changed my diet after having those attacks and that I was eating as much as I can of what doesn't bother me. After measuring my stomach to find I am measuring correctly, he came to the conclusion that this time It was okay to lose that weight but if the streak continues we'll have to check the baby's weight through ultrasound. So at this point in time I have gained 11 pounds my entire pregnancy and ideally I should be weighing at about 17 pounds.

Enough about that... We went to the Jack Johnson concert. It was very fun of course, however it was not the most amazing concert I have ever been to. I do not think that it helped that everyone around us was smoking marijuana and blowing it directly in my nose which of course was making me nervous and distracting me... after a while I think Chad was starting to get nervous too because he wanted to walk around which was fine with me. I was beginning to get very uncomfy sitting on the grass. My tailbone is super sensitive now days, as I am sure you can relate to if you have ever been pregnant. None-the-less I was very glad that we went and Jack Johnson still has some of the most amazing music I have ever heard!

On Saturday I went to Ephrata to visit my family and as you can see I hung out with Wesley for a bit, spent some quality time with Arianne and went to see my Grandma Chamberlain. :) GOOD TIMES!

Chicago Concert

Okay, so as you can see we had quite the evening last night. Chad, my parents, and I went over to see Chicago play in Kennewick. It was not only an amazing concert we had a really great time with my parents as we don't see them as often as we'd like to. Tomorrow is Chad 24th birthday and we are all very excited about that, I also have another doctor appointment... To top off our amazing and crazy week, on Friday evening we have tickets to go see the Jack Johnson concert at the Gorge... we have been waiting months for that one, I am sure you will see another blog about it as he is pretty much my favorite person in the world!! All I can say is Chad is lucky he found me before Jackie J. swept me off my feet.
